So I think I've got things working again. What I did:
Remove flash using apt-get: $ sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-* --purge Remove flash manually: $ locate libflash\* $ rm <examples of libflashplayer.so> Download most recent version of flash from adobe, unpack, and install in ~/.mozilla/plugins So far, problem solved.
