Public bug reported: It appears that the .gnuplot file in the current directory is ignored (true for gnuplot on Hardy and Jaunty). According to the gnuplot manual this is the case if the NOCWDRC option is set on compilation. I think this situation is actually a bug and hence reporting it as such: it is incredibly useful to have ./.gnuplot read and annoying not to have it done automatically.
