For the first time since coming to ubuntu with 7.04 I am thinking of
switching distros. I do a lot of large file copying and I might as well
go get coffee during copies of large data. For the entire duration my
computer is so slow it is unusable (even to browse the web)

core2duo e8400 3.0ghz with 4GB ram is brought to its knees when copying
a simple 1GB+ file.
