Steve's statement was that the reverse-build-deps should be trimmed down prior to removal, which I think is a reasonable position. Nothing has changed here yet regarding the number of reverse-dependencies since jaunty, so I think there's insufficient evidence that karmic gives enough time to deal with the rdepends if there's been no movement in the past two months.
