I'm using a Geforce 9000 (comes up as Geforce 9100 in lspci): 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C77 [GeForce 9100M G] (rev a2)
I just tried it with VESA and it works fine, it seems that it may be a bug in the video driver.
