"mark this as a high priority bug" No, they don't. Bug reports of this broken copy and paste functionality are so old, but the developers just don't care. They don't care thousands of people lost data because of this bug.
I've done everything I can think of to get this bug fixed, but the progress so far is equal to zero. In the opinion of the developers this is how copy and paste works. It's just broken by design.
