Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help to improve Ubuntu.
The acpi-support package is not involved with the screen locking policy; this would seem to be a screensaver issue. You don't mention whether you're using Ubuntu or another variant, so assuming gnome-screensaver. However, I'm not able to reproduce this problem here; closing the lid on my laptop correctly locks the screen. In your case, does the screensaver activate without locking the screen, or does the screensaver not activate at all? Please post the output of the following commands: $ gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome-power-manager/lock $ gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome-screensaver ** Package changed: acpi-support (Ubuntu) => gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- Closing lid does not lock screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379537 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
