** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon Today I allowed some updates to run. They were mostly new video drivers. The net result is that the display on this laptop is now set to a lower resolution than it should be. It is a HP compaq nx 7010 I think, from memory, the resolution use to be something like 1400x1050 (I am guessing) It is not at 1280x1024 I can not change it using the Display settings. There is just the one option there. I am not sure which part of the upgrade caused this. I am guessing it was either xserver-xorg-video-ati or xserver-xorg-video-radeon. The submission system is forcing me to pick a package this relates to. It auto detects xserver-xorg-video when I submit, and then when I try to submit again it tells me this package is not found. So I am picking xserver-xorg-video-radeon just so I can submit this bug. Here is what was upgraded: libdrm-intel1 (2.4.11+git20090514.r1.f57d7f4b-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty) to 2.4.11+git20090519.f355ad89-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty libdrm2 (2.4.11+git20090514.r1.f57d7f4b-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty) to 2.4.11+git20090519.f355ad89-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty libglu1-mesa (7.5.0~git20090518+mesa-7-5-branch.7ce105d2-0ubuntu0sarvatt) to 7.5.0~git20090523+mesa-7-5-branch.1045481d-0ubuntu0sarvatt mesa-utils (7.5.0~git20090518+mesa-7-5-branch.7ce105d2-0ubuntu0sarvatt) to 7.5.0~git20090523+mesa-7-5-branch.1045481d-0ubuntu0sarvatt xserver-xorg-video-ati (1:6.12.1-0ubuntu2) to 1:6.12.2.99+git20090521.88a9e983-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.7.99.1+git20090515.87332a7c-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty) to 2:2.7.99.1+git20090520.ad212882-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty xserver-xorg-video-radeon (1:6.12.1-0ubuntu2) to 1:6.12.2.99+git20090521.88a9e983-0ubuntu0sarvatt~jaunty This machine has a ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. Everything on the screen looks way too big. I gather this is a bug, as I have never had a graphics driver upgrade do this before. I have ubuntu 9.04 It might be related to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80940 Though I have never had the other problems this person described with regards to autodetection not working in the past. Video has been fine for over 1 year, until this update messing something up. With thanks...
