Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
I am trying to move from windows to unbuntu and am currently running both on dual boot. Before ditching windows certain programs need to be functioning first on ubuntu, email is one of these. I can connect to the internet via Firefox and read web mail at Yahoo and also Karoo (broadband provider). However, I seem unable to set up evolution to receive and send my email. Outlook used to cope well with this and I have copied what settings I can from outlook to evolution. When pressing 'send and receive' a dialogue box appears with both email addresses on it and everything looks as though it has worked properly, but no emails are received or transmitted and at the bottom of evolution is a message 'error while fetching mail'. Please can you help.
