I got the Cracking to stop by going to: Utilities/Setup --> Setup --> TV Settings --> Playback
In here uncheck: * Extra Audio Buffering * Use video as timebase Utilities/Setup --> Setup -->General Change Audio output device: ALSA:mythspdif Passthrough output device: ALSA:iec958:{AES0 0x02} Check: Enable AC3 to SPDIF passthrough Enable DTS to SPDIF passthrough Added this to my /etc/asound.conf Code: pcm.!default { type plug slave { pcm "spdif" rate 48000 format S16_LE } } If that does not work try: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install module-assistant sudo m-a update sudo m-a prepare sudo m-a a-i alsa reboot or reload alsa modules.
