You can install it from my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~kklimonda/+archive/ppa - some testing would be nice. Make sure that file "wininit.txt" doesn't show up anywhere but in ~/.config/crawl/ - I have had to patch a game because by default it was creating wininit.txt in current directory. I need to know if everything works. I have send changes to the Maintainer but I don't know if he accept them as I've basically rewritten whole package.
