Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
The display starts flashing (like brightness turning up and down really fast) and is generally unresponsive, the following error appears in dmesg: [drm:i915_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0 I'm able to move the mouse and choice shutdown however I'm unable to click the shutdown button in the dialog. Also the dialog does _not_ count down. Other open programs respond extremely sluggish as well. Switching to a console allows me to log in, however as soon as I login in the screen is filled with "^@"s, pressing Ctrl-C resulting in me being logged out again. The only way to recover is to hard reset, soft reboot results in the same symptoms immediately after reboot. Reproducing this problem is not consistent. Certain programs seem to trigger them more often. Especially Skype (2.0.0.72-1), but also the Gnome screensaver. Disabling compiz or switching to different themes does not help. I'm running Ubuntu karmic on a MSI Wind Netbook 100 (Intel Atom N270, Intel 945GSE+ICH7M). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screen flashes with [drm:i915_get_vblank_counter] *ERROR* trying to get vblank count for disabled pipe 0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379082 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
