Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn
When using nm-openvpn to connect to a OpenVPN server which is configured to use comp-lzo compression and the client option is _not_ configured to use comp-lzo the connection appears to be working, but actually is not. The only indication of a problem is the following line in daemon.log: nm-openvpn[4429]: WARNING: 'comp-lzo' is present in remote config but missing in local config, remote='comp-lzo' Steps to reproduce: 1. Set-up OpenVPN server with comp-lzo enabled 2. Set-up Ubuntu client through network manager with comp-lzo disabled 3. Connect to VPN Actual result: Connection appears to be up, but is not working. Expected result: - Network manager shows pop-up with error or - Network manager prompt user to enable comp-lzo and reconnect $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release: 9.10 $ apt-cache policy network-manager-openvpn network-manager-openvpn: Installed: 0.7.1~rc4.1.20090323+bzr27-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 0.7.1~rc4.1.20090323+bzr27-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 0.7.1~rc4.1.20090323+bzr27-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- nm-openvpn fails silently on incorrect settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/379073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
