I can confirm this bug with Ubuntu 8.04.2/Hardy (kernel 2.6.24-24-generic #1 SMP Wed Apr 15 15:54:25 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux) using Ati Catalyst 9.4 (fglrx 8.60.3) and Catalyst 9.5 (fglrx 8.61.2) running on Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H (AMD 780G Chipset; integrated Radeon HD 3200 GPU; AMD Athlon X2 4850e CPU).
