I don't know if this is related or not, or if it belongs in it's own thread. However I had a working Hardy and Intrepid setup on my laptop using a Linksys WPC11 v3 wireless card. When I upgraded to Jaunty (upgrade and clean install), my wireless would appear to be connected, with no signal strength. After entering the BSSID and MAC of my wireless router, I'm able to get a working wireless connection.
Net: - using Hardy or Intrepid, no BSSID or MAC needed - using Jaunty, need to specify BSSID and MAC (I did not test if just one was needed, and I also set the MTU to match my wireless router) Hope this helps others! -- Ubuntu 9 wireless requires ESSID broadcast. 8 did not. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
