This is a problem of system-config-printer. The driver download facility which you are using is for searching for (manufacturer-supplied) PPDs on the OpenPrinting web site. Unfortunately, it does not tell already in the list of found models whether for the selected models are PPDs available or not. So you have to click on "Forward" currently to see whether there are really PPDs.
