first the problem is likely caused by the partial dist upgrade weather
fixed or not it most likely corrupted the profile. Removing the profile
should work. I'm closing this bug due to not a fault in Lightning or
sunbird but more of a system issue.
Fix the dist-upgrade than remove --purge sunbirdlightning than remove
thier profiles from ~/ than try again.
