Hi, sorry for delaying my answer so much. To answer Neil's last question, using version 1.6.16 the problem was still the same. However, I have now updated to Jaunty (with a clean install) and the issue has disappeared. I guess the problem had something to do with my earlier setup (which was an installation from Intrepid mini iso), theoretically, my installation process shouldn't have mattered at all, but apparently it did matter.
I'd say that this bug can be closed, as far as I'm concerned, but since it seems that the bug has been confirmed (I don't know if that means that the problem has been reproduced on another system), then it's up to you.
