so why is this invalid?
it is OK for nautilus to become completely useless when you change your
partitioning?
even Windows handles partitioning changes gracefully.

whether this is a urgent problem to fix, I don't think the current behaviour
is acceptable.
from the user's perspective this is a bug.
at worst, from a developer's perspective this should be an enhancement.
how is this just a "question"?
