I believe we have a bunch of duplicates with the same problem. I'm not going to mark them as such since I believe there are people better suited to to make that judgement. But here is a list: Bug #257711 Bug #272560 Bug #238105
I'd also like to ad I tried the vesa driver, and had the exact same result as above. No idea how many people are affected by this. But I know of no workaround for intrepid or jaunty (except always having an external screen connected to the laptop). In hardy, the latest LTS, you have to ad driver "i810" to xorg.conf. You have to install Ubuntu with alternate install or an external screen before doing so. All this I think is more than the average user can handle. That makes this bug extremely critical to a small audience. -- [i830] Installer unable to launch Xorg on Fujitsu Stylistic ST4120PW https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
