Firefox 3.0.10 uses 100% Ubuntu 9.04 resources in my IBM T41 laptop (1,6GHz, 512MB RAM, SWAP file 1GB - not really used). I did have problems with Adobe (Macromedia) Flash, but I did install Adobe's version 10 (Debian package).. and later on, uninstall flash non-free plugins.
