According to apt-file, the icons are not in the plasma-widget-network-manager package. It seems icons from the oxygen theme (located in /usr/share/icons/oxygen, probably 22x22) are used including: - status/object-locked ; - status/object-unlocked ; - status/object-locked-finished.
I agree that the icon choice is not really relevant. I suggest: 1) For unencrypted networks (currently status/object-unlocked) a) no icon or b) an icon without padlock on it 2) For encrypted networks for which we have the key (currently status/object-unlocked) a) an open padlock (no change) or b) a padlock with a key or c) a padlock with a green check (status/object-locked-verified) 3) For encrypted networks for which we don't have the key (yet?) (currently status/object-locked-finished) a) a locked padlock (yet it may lead to confusion with the open padlock) b) a padlock with a red cross (status/object-locked-unverified) -- plasma-widget-network-manager icons for secure vs open wifi networks are too similar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
