You could help by trying the package in my PPA [1]. The package doesn't fix the corruption but should stop the annoying dialog from repeatedly appearing, by correctly initiating a reindex and clearing the problem. Once this has happened, the dialog notification should not appear again, unless some other event corrupts the index.
