More info on this one. After using a custom kernel, I noticed that whenver I disable b43legacy the b44 driver loads just fine. When b43legay is enable at compile time b44 can't be loaded automaticaly. Note that I don't even load b43legacy, this happens just by compiling it.
I think this might be related to the ssb module. I've noticed that when b43legacy is compiled, and I load b44 by hand it doesn't build ssb (which is needed by b44). Maybe b43legacy is incompatible with ssb and hence the problem? ** Summary changed: - broadcom wl driver "overwrites" ethernet device + b43legacy incompatible with b44? -- b43legacy incompatible with b44? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351079 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
