I'm guessing you something like the following in your
'/etc/apt/sources.list' file:
deb cdrom:[Kubuntu 6.10 _Edgy Eft_ - Release amd64 (20061025.1)]/ edgy
main restricted
This is indicating to update-manager to first look for a cdrom file
containing Jaunty packages on it. In the event that you don't have that
CD I'd comment any lines with cdrom: in them and then try upgrading
again.
