Public bug reported: There is no system information available on any visible place in Ubuntu.
The "About Ubuntu" system menu option show some web page which is not likely going to tell me much about *my* system. Specifically I would like a tool that can help answering questions like What brand and model is my graphics card? Is my Linux installation 64bit? Is my cpu 64bit? Do I have a (supported) sound card? on some prominent place like next to the "About Ubuntu" and/or in the "System Administration" submenu just above. I can read this information just fine from the kernel logs and /proc and /sys files but many people might like such tool, and even I would like to use it if it was able to collect the information from the various system sources into one coherent user interface. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- no system information tool https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374935 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
