Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash
I have all updates applied to Ubuntu 8.10 before I have made the upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 directly via Internet. Just during the beginning of booting there are the following messages: [2.572015] ata1 Softreset failed (device not ready) [3.252017] ata2 Softreset failed (device not ready) modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/modules.dep: No such file or directory But I have no problems to start the two hard-disks And in /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/ there is a file "modules.dep" When I boot via GRUB with the kernel 2.6.27-9-generic there are no error messages. With Ubuntu 8.10 I had no problems. The hardware is always the same. ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
