I am sorry for not updating this. I could not locate it! Yes, please close the ticket. I found that my machine was not quite 'healthy' enough to run video properly. I attempted to upgrade my bios so it could recognize more RAM. I never was successful in being able to upgrade the bios (from WinXP it would have been easy...). I since have built up a new PC and am running hardy heron (same as before) and it flat ROCKS with running everything!
I sure wish it was easier to upgrade bios under linux... Status in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 with Kubuntu graphics. When viewing videos (like on youtube) the audio and video are very choppy. I'm using FireFox. I have verified that my network connection is not the problem. I have seen dozens of users report they have the same or similar problem. I have tried all of the 'fixes' that other users claim to work, however none of them have worked. I do not know what would be involved on your part, but would it be possible for you to write a script that users could execute that would take an inventory of their installed packages and them make the appropriate downloads and installs to rectify this? I'm rather new to Linux (as are most people having this same problem) and despite all of the hours of research I have done still do not know how to fix this. I've been living with this issue for several months now. I'm not sure what other information you require of me (if any) but if you need any more info please do let me know. Plus I would appreciate your stance on this. Thanks!
