Thee problem is atm my jaunty shuts down fine with the kernel it is on. It is a older kernel but i will try the above kernel, that does not help me with karmic using version 2.6.28-11-.42-generic since 43 is not offered we are now using 2.6.30 and .42 is the lowest kermic goes. I will boot to jaunty and try the .43 kernel and let you know.
