Hi, I've just tested with the 2.8.28-12.43 from proposed with resample-method = trivial
and default-fragment-size-msec = 5 and I was able to trigger the problem with rhythmbox stopping and just getting constant loud crackling and no music out and this doesn't get going again. This happened while there was some reasonably heavy CPU (update-manager doing its stuff) - but I've never had that behaviour on an earlier kernel as previously mentioned. I'm back on 2.6.28-11 #42 and with both of those resample-method and default-fragment-size-msec set as above, and I'm still getting the occasional crackle - i.e. back to the original bug.
