Bug #215902 mentions Ubuntu and PDF since that is what the bug reporter
happened to be using when the bug was first noticed. I fixed this bug in
cairo[1] and I know it affects all cairo printing surfaces (ie PDF,
PostScipt and Windows printing).
You can determine the version of cairo you are using by saving to PDF
then open the PDF file in Adobe Reader, goto
File->Properties->Description and check the PDF producer version.
