I am the upstream developer for glabels. 2.2.3 and 2.2.4 are definitely completely broken on 9.04. Please update to 2.2.5 as soon as possible.
Getting bug fixes pushed downstream has been a long standing issue. It does no one any good if I fix bugs but they do not get pushed to the end users for months or even years.
