the bug has actually been fixed in latest 0.6.5.2 version of kadu - the encryption module was rewritten so as to use qca2 instead of openssl. packages of the version can be fetched here: https://launchpad.net/~patryk-prezu/+archive/ppa sources can be found on the official site.
