Public bug reported:

Since updating from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 via network update my GrIP
joypad (gravis xterminator) connected to a soundblaster live gameport
isn't detected.

"modprobe grip" loads the module but doesn't detect anything. In 8.10 it
was correctly detected as shown in the output of 'dmesg'.
