Guyverix, I never tried creating an empty text file in /var/log/mythtv/ and naming it mythbackend.log
something like: sudo echo > /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log It might not fix the problem, but I didn't have the backend log file, and I wondered if that was the cause.
