I had the same problem, but after some research on the web I think this is connected to NetworkManager problem that was in Ubuntu 8.10 - slow system start up due to long lasting network configuring. To resolve that previous problem I erased/commented out everything in /etc/network/interfaces. As it seems that causes some problems with network configuration that slows down Firefox, cause then I added: auto lo auto eth0 auto eth1 back to /etc/network/interfaces Firefox doesn't hang any more.
So my advice is to check Your /etc/network/interfaces and if it's empty an an 'auto <interface_name>' for every interface U have and it may help. -- Firefox hangs for no reason https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357433 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
