Can you please attach your printer's PPD file (from /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd) and your /etc/cups/printers.conf? If you have a file ~/.cups/lpoptions (or ~/.lpoptions), please attach it, too.
Can you also create a debug log by following the instructions in the "CUPS error_log" section on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems and attach it to this bug report. Do this with a job from OpenOffice.org (or any other non-GNOME application which has the problem).
