Public bug reported: Trying to run Jaunty livecd on a nforce3 250 motherboard and ati 9600XT (RV350) causes Xorg to lock. It is not possible to switch to tty, and a "shadow" of the last screen can be seen on monitor (Shutdown windows, boot liveCD, it is possible to see the windows's shutdown screen. Boot ubuntu 8.04, shutdown, boot livecd, a brown screen can be seen).
I do not know which is the problematic package. linux-image or xserver-xorg-video-ati. In ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.27 would cause a black screen, but kernel 2.6.24 worked fine.
