Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope apt-cache policy yields: Installed: 2.24.2-2ubuntu8 Candidate: 2.24.2-2ubuntu8 Version table: *** 2.24.2-2ubuntu8 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status LCD brightness control does not work in 9.04 using an acer aspire (I'm have a 5315 - others with the same problem have different models of the aspire) Lowering the brightness works fine, but increasing the brightness does not work. The screen flickers a few times, as if it went up and then immediately back down, though it does actually increase most of the time. However, the brightness meter in the notifications area goes immediately to the lowest brightness. killing gnome-power-manager does fix the problem, currently, I'm running with g-p-m disabled in my startup applications ProblemType: Bug ACAdapter: Present Architecture: i386 Battery: Present CPUScaling: Not Present DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 LaptopPanel: Present MediaBuild: Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" - Release i386 (20090420.1) Package: gnome-power-manager 2.24.2-2ubuntu8 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-power-manager Uname: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic i686 ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- LCD brightness control broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369169 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
