Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information.
Your OppsText.txt report seems to point to bluetooth being related to the issue, specifically mentioning bluetoothd, which is contained in the bluez package (and installed by default in Jaunty). Please let us know the version of bluez that you are running, which can be obtained by typing "dpkg -s bluez" and copying the "Version:" field. Also, you have the btusb module loaded to support your "Hewlett-Packard Wireless (Bluetooth + WLAN) Interface" Note that the following will temporarily disable any bluetooth devices: To try to narrow down the issue, please disable the bluetooth daemon by opening System > Administration > Services, clicking the Unlock button, unchecking the square next to "Bluetooth device management" and then clicking the close button. Does the problem now continue with desktop effects enabled? After a reboot? If it does panic, in the terminal, please type "sudo modprobe -r btusb" (which will remove the bluetooth driver from the running kernel), does the kernel still panic? Please post the outcome. You may reverse all of this with "sudo modprobe btusb" and by opening the Services panel and checking the square next to "Bluetooth device management" again. Thank you. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000008 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
