Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok
1) Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 2) amarok 2:2.0.2mysql5.1.30-0ubuntu3 4) When I try to move ~5 GB of music it takes about 15 minutes to do it. When trying to move ~50 GB of music to my collection; it takes over 8 hours and counting before it even asks me how I want to save it to that directory. It seems the 'move to directory' functionality is implemented in an inefficient way. It also looks like it wants to parse the ID3 tag of all songs before it comes up with the save window; and scan it all over again afterwards. 3) It should be possible for the dialog window for how to save the songs within a second; and start copying directly after pressing 'ok'. Amarok is using ~7% of the total (2gb) memory and 99% cpu. I would guess it's still parsing ID3 tags. ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- amarok takes exponential time moving songs to the collection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to amarok in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
