@Toniisam: Excellent workaround!! just to add that we have to download the gnome-control-center package from hardy-updates and extract it in a folder, from there, copy the gnome-font-viewer in /usr/bin. Would some maintainer help to intrepid users? since its possible to make it work in intrepid, here there are some of us that are stuck in intrepid like me (in my case its because ATI proprietary driver now does not support my video card (RS690) and the open driver are too buggy and feature less for my card), mmm i think im not the only one. All my hopes are in the next Karmic release.
