I'm getting system freezes too. If I remember all of them occurred when I was browsing with firefox. The hole desktop freezes, I can't switch to terminal, can't restart gdm, can't enable/disable caps-lock. The only thing that can be done is move the mouse pointer around...
I'm using the final version of Jaunty with all updates released so far. My system is an Acer laptop, Pentium M 1.7, with an integrated intel 855GM graphics card. The distribution is installed on a ext4 partition, and the home directory is a ext3 partition. Hope this gets fixed soon. If more information is needed, please ask.
