        Yes. It does, when you type in console "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart"

        As above. Just type in console "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart"
 
* Is gdm running?
        gdm isn't running. While reverting it hangs on Reloading common Unix 
Printing System: cupsd and Reloading system log daemon.
