Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 evolution: Installed: 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ph.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Local mail storage is a Maildir that is updated in the background by offlineimap. Up to Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, there was no problem with this combination. offlineimap updates the local Maildir based on the IMAP server's contents, and during the "new mail check" interval or when I trigger sending and receiving of email, Evolution reflects these changes immediately. The most common change is new mail arriving. With Evolution in Ubuntu 9.04, whatever folder is the currently selected folder when changes arrive doesn't show these new email. The folder's unread message count gets updated, though. This happens most to my inbox because that is where I usually keep Evolution focused when idle and that is where most new mail arrive. However, I have observed this in some folders used for mailing lists, where server-side filters automatically deliver mail to. The new mail eventually shows up (~5 minutes or so) but I haven't found a way to force it to do so "immediately" other than to restart Evolution.
