I've just encountered the same problem with the release version of Jaunty. It's been working fine since Thursday (yes, I had to have it right away :)
As of an hour ago, every time I try to log into Jaunty, the keyboard and mouse freeze up at the (X windows) login prompt. That is -- both the USB keyboard and mouse and the main keyboard and mouse on my notebook (MSI clone with AMD Sempron, ATI Radeon). The Red light is lit on the optical mouse, but it doesn't work. I've tried starting in recovery mode, and checking log files, but nothing seems out of the ordinary.
