Public bug reported: I upgraded my eee 1000 from ubuntu 8.10 (with netbook remix) to 9.04 UNR and the desktop menus are now very slow... they take about 1 second to highlight a menu item and about 3 seconds to change menu panels (say from Favourites to Office).
