I upgraded to Ubuntu-9.04 before I could test this again sorry. I did a clean install and enabled the nvidia-glx-180 driver without any of the side effects I encountered previously. I think it's fair to say that this was just an anomaly with my system and the bug can be marked as invalid. Cheers, Karl
