Ok so I found a way to get it 'working'

steps 1 and 2 are from
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaLaptopBinaryDriverSuspend

1)(this was for the nvidia card)

put this in /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Option          "NvAGP"       "1"

2)(this was for the nvidia card also)
blacklist intel_agp

3)(this was for the USB wireless card)
put this into a file in /etc/pm/config.d
SUSPEND_MODULES="rt2500usb"

The Third step is since the wireless card's driver is not unloaded and i guess
it needs to be??
Ok, to be clear, this is not a regression, I was wrong about this working in
hardy. I had forgotten that I had done steps (1) and (2) before, and this
wireless card is new to this system(i was using a different one before).

should I file a separate bug report for the rt2500usb driver with
suspend. I thought that pm-util was suppose to automatically
unload/reload wifi drivers on suspend???
