Public bug reported:

First of all I want to say THANKS for supporting netbooks.

Unfortunately this upgrade is more of a downgrade. Things are running
slower than 8.10. Moving a window across the screen is choppy. Please
find out what's slowing it down. Also before upgrading, I was using
array.org version of 8.10 of which solved most problems that the generic
version had. One thing that it had was the feature to speed up or slow
down the cpu and fan. If you could add that in to 9.04 that would be
great.

FYI: I normally connect my eee 1000 pc to a LCD, so I'm using a larger
resolution.

** Affects: ubuntu
